This is terrible.
Its true that people dun usually stop at one lie cos they will need more lies to cover that one lie they made..
And coming up with a convincing one is never easy so why do people still do it?
Reason 1: They simply love lying
Reason 2: They don't want to hurt someone's feeling
Reason 3: Its a habit
Reason 4: They consider you as someone close to them (i mean who would care what you will be thinking after saying what you wanted to say even if it hurts them?)

Lying is bad.
Debatable.

BUT please.., please dun let the person you lied to caught you lying to him/her. Until then its never debatable cos you are definitely so wrong to lie!
